Recycle Your Unwanted Books
The necessity to conserve resources is widely accepted and many people now routinely recycle an increasingly wide range of materials including paper. What is not generally realised is that due to high processing costs, books are frequently not recycled and an unacceptably high amount are sent to landfill sites.
This has far reaching ecological and financial implications that effect us all. Paper is a finite resource made from trees. Living Trees absorb carbon from the atmosphere which would otherwise contribute to global warming, the results of which are becoming more evident on a daily basis.
On a more local level, your council pays tax for each and every ton of rubbish that is put into landfill sites, it is your money that they are spending.
C-Books Helps Charity Shops
Several years ago a local charity shop told us that they receive many more books than they could ever hope to sell and they had to take most to the Council Dump. We offered to help by taking their excess books. This became a regular occurrence and news spread by word of mouth - within months we were providing the same service to charity shops throughout the Waveney area.
C-books Will Never Destroy or Send Any Books to Landfill
Our van and driver regularly collects from an ever widening area and donations are made to registered charity shops. When returned here the books are sorted, some added to our website for sale and others supplied wholesale to other used booksellers. We have donated to local schools and sent large quantities of books to both UK and International charities.
If you are in or close to the Waveney area and would like us to collect your books, please fill in this form below or telephone us on 01502 539194.
